AOTO Powers Busan’s Cutting-Edge Virtual Production Studio in Collaboration with Busan Film Commission and BASICTECH
Busan, South Korea – AOTO, a global leader in LED display technology and virtual production solutions, is proud to support the development of the state-of-the-art Virtual Production (VP) Studio at the Busan Film Studio. This collaborative project, led by the Busan Film Commission (BFC) and BASICTECH, represents a significant step forward in advancing virtual production capabilities in South Korea and beyond.
The VP Studio is equipped with AOTO’s advanced RM Series LED display, featuring a 2.3mm pixel pitch curved LED wall. This high-resolution display, measuring 20.5 meters wide and 3.5 meters tall, is designed to deliver exceptional image quality, color accuracy, and seamless integration for virtual production workflows. AOTO’s LED technology is renowned for its ability to create immersive, lifelike environments, enabling filmmakers to blend live-action footage with virtual elements in real time. This not only enhances creative possibilities but also significantly reduces post-production time and costs.
AOTO’s LED displays are a cornerstone of modern virtual production, offering superior color fidelity, high refresh rates, and seamless curved designs. These features ensure that virtual sets are visually indistinguishable from real-world environments, providing filmmakers with unparalleled flexibility and efficiency. “Our RM Series LED displays are designed to meet the demanding needs of virtual production,” said a representative from AOTO. “By combining cutting-edge technology with a deep understanding of filmmakers’ workflows, we aim to empower creators to push the boundaries of storytelling.”
The Busan VP Studio is part of a growing trend in the film and entertainment industry, where virtual production is rapidly becoming the new standard. Traditional green and blue screens are increasingly being replaced by LED volumes, which offer real-time rendering and greater creative control. This shift is driven by the need for more efficient production processes and the demand for higher-quality visual content. AOTO’s LED technology is at the forefront of this transformation, with its displays being used in over 1/3 of the world’s virtual production studios.
The VP Studio also features an MRMC Bolt High-Speed Cinema Robot for dynamic camera movements, Disguise vx4 and rxII Media Servers for seamless integration of live-action footage and virtual elements, and Brompton Technology’s Tessera Processing to enhance color accuracy and brightness control. This state-of-the-art setup provides filmmakers with a comprehensive solution for creating high-quality content, from commercials and streaming productions to feature films and television series.
“The Busan VP Studio is a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation in the virtual production space,” added the AOTO representative. “As virtual production becomes increasingly integral to content creation, AOTO remains committed to providing the tools and technologies that enable filmmakers to tell their stories in new and impactful ways.”
