SHENZHEN, China – April 30, 2025 – At 10:00 a.m. Beijing time on May 1, the Shenzhen Science & Technology Museum (New Hall) in Guangming Science City will officially open its doors to the public. Designed by the globally renowned Zaha Hadid Architects, the museum features a dramatic U-shaped structure and a 90,000-panel stainless steel façade inspired by cosmic light phenomena such as auroras and solar flares—earning it the nickname “starship of the future.”

As Shenzhen’s newest cultural and technological landmark, the 128,000-square-meter, six-story museum blends futuristic architecture with deeply immersive exhibitions across artificial intelligence, aerospace, biotechnology, and digital communication. A key enabler behind many of these experiences is AOTO, a global leader in AI-powered display systems and smart visual terminals.

AOTO’s Role in Defining the Digital Museum Experience

At the core of the museum’s interactive offering is AOTO’s integrated LED display system, custom-developed to deliver high-performance visuals across a range of immersive environments that engage, educate, and inspire.

“Public spaces are evolving beyond static exhibitions. They are becoming intelligent, perceptive ecosystems,” said a representative from AOTO. “This museum reflects our belief that AI + Visualization isn’t just a tool—it’s the foundation of how people will engage with the world, art, and knowledge in the future.”

Highlights of the Installation Include:

  • LED Cinemai (First Floor): One of the few DCI-compliant public cinema spaces in China, equipped with AOTO’s CVCB Series P2.5 4K LED display. The system integrates Hollywood-grade visuals, spatial audio, dynamic seating, and ambient lighting for a scientifically immersive storytelling experience.

  • DREAM SPACE (First Floor): A next-gen XR environment with 34 vertical LED walls and 30 interactive floors, robotic cameras, and real-time motion synthesis. Visitors are filmed, composited into digital scenes, and shown their immersive experience live, fusing entertainment and education.

  • “Hello, World!” Welcome Hall (Second Floor): Wrapped in curved, spherical, and flexible LED screens by AOTO, the hall transforms complex concepts like blockchain, big data, and cloud computing into touch-and-gesture-activated experiences. Collaborations with Unitree Robotics and responsive AI avatars make the hall a prototype for civic tech engagement.

  • Suspended Octopus Structure (Third Floor): A visually striking installation suspended 15 meters above ground, made from over 2,000 P2.5 LED panels. Designed, constructed, and precisely secured by AOTO’s engineering team, the piece serves as a digital sculpture of communication history, surrounded by kinetic exhibits like “Techno-Eye” and mechanical interactive rods.

AOTO’s Vision: Designing the Future of Public Interaction

With installations spanning cultural institutions, smart cities, and commercial applications, AOTO is at the forefront of reimagining public engagement. Its smart terminal ecosystem has been recognized by industry leaders, including NVIDIA, Meta, and Google, for its scalability and creative integration potential.

“The Shenzhen Science & Technology Museum is not just a showcase of technology, but a statement of intent,” added the AOTO representative. “It’s about how humans and intelligent systems can co-create meaning, emotion, and discovery in the real world.”
